OUTREACH

Educational staff from Wildlife Safari can come to your school to present an exciting and informative program.  Each program involves a variety of animals and features conservation principles appropriate to each grade level. Schools can select one of our WILD programs listed below.


 
SENSE-ATIONAL ANIMALS
All Grades
Delve into the world of animal sensory.  Learn how animals use their senses in unique and various ways to help them succeed in the wild.
SECRET WEAPONS 
All Grades
Discover the features on an animal’s body that may appear frightening to us but are essential to an animal’s survival in the wild.  Program involves a close look at animal adaptations and defense characteristics.
GOING, GOING, GONE!
3rd Grade and Up
Discover why many of the world’s animals are on the decline.  A glimpse into various factors, such as habitat loss and the pet trade, that are threatening many species.  Discuss what has been done and what students can do to help these animals
NATURE TALES
Preschool through 2nd Grade
Animals and storytelling help convey basic conservation concepts.  Follow one animal’s journey attempting to rid the earth of trash and pollution.  Includes a discussion on ways for younger children to become involved in the planet’s fate.

 
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • Programs must be scheduled at least three (3) weeks in advance
  • Program length:  Each program is 30 minutes long plus time for students to interact with staff.  (60 minutes max.)
  • Audience size limit:  400 students per assembly.  We encourage splitting age groups.
Fee: $225per assembly or $325 for two programs on the same day.  Local rates available.  Additional charge for mileage.   Travel costs are split between schools in the same area. Fees are due on the day of the assembly.  Please make checks  payable to “Wildlife Safari”.

Teacher’s kits are provided to help you plan for our visit.  They include preparatory material as well as activities.  (Kits are available for $10 without visit.)
